Cannes Lions announced yesterday the first exhibitors of the Lions Innovation Festival, a new two-day festival that takes place within the festival. Its focus will be the fusion between data, technology and ideas. The presenters are part of a state-of-the-art program that explores and explains the opportunities inherent to the rapid evolution of creative conventions.”The Lions Innovation program is a representation of our belief that great ideas can come from anywhere and this time we are seeking sources of inspiration in the most remote places”, said Terry Savage, chairman of Cannes Lions, when he confirmed that some of the presenters were from NASA.Dr. Francesca DeMeo, planetary scientist and director of NASA’s Asteroid grand challenge program will join Tyler DeAngelo, creative director of McGarry Bowen for the session, which, according to Savage will mark the spirit of the festival.”Innovation means moving away from known territory to unexplored ones to create something new and valuable”, said Savage. “Your vision of achieving new heights and revealing the unknown in ways that ultimately benefit mankind, prove there is no greater innovation than the one NASA carries out”.A great deal of the Lions Innovation program will be centered on the exploration of the role of data and technology as a driver of ideas. The figure of woman in relation with technology will also be part of the agenda. The presentation “How could the generation gap make the global sector of technological creativity fail?” is an example.
