Yahoo! has posted its 2013 Year in Review, its traditional look back at the past 12 months showing the interests of the millions who used Yahoo! to find out what they wanted to know. At the same time it lists the most sought-after stories, favorite topics and most interesting personalities of the year.To develop its review of the top searches on Yahoo!, its editors analyzed browsing patterns and the most popular stories based on a number of factors, including the absolute volume and growth compared with previous years, and the editorial choices, to find out what topics and trends came to the surface as cybernauts’ favorites.Some subjects that stood out in 2013 on Yahoo! En Español were: Pope Frances, the death of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and the first year of the post-Chavez era, the Cleveland monster, Britain’s royal baby, Edward Snowden, a year of crisis and the launch of Obamacare, the war in Syria, the worst meteorite of the century, the train accident that left Spain in mourning, Bangladesh, the wardrobe tragedy, the typhoon that devastated the Philippines, and the day the Supreme Court gave the worst news to the daily Clarin.As for the words that U.S. Hispanic users posted on the portal to find out more on the subject were: Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez, Shakira, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Miley Cirus, One Direction, Real Madrid and Karla Alvarez.
