74% de los usuarios hispanos de teléfonos móviles en EE UU utiliza aplicaciones para acceder a una red social
Latinos in the USA use their mobile phones to access social network applications almost as much as their non-Latino peers. Almost seven out of 10 Internet Latino users use this kind of applications often. However, the use of social applications drops according to their acculturation level.Unacculturated Latinos, those who speak Spanish fluently and feel uncomfortable speaking in English, are driving the use of these social applications. Almost 70% of them said these apps are amongst their top three, according to a survey conducted in December 2013 by Latinum Network. Only 51% of acculturated Latinos and 60% of biculturals agreed.Besides, 52% of unacculturated Latinos said that at least one messaging app, such as Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp, was amongst their top three apps. This reveals that unacculturated Latinos probably trust more these platforms to keep in touch with their families and friends in their origin countries.According to a March 2014 research by Pricewaterhouse Coopers, 74% of Latino mobile phone users in the USA use apps to access a social network at least once a week, compared to 73% of non-Latinos. Latinos tend more to send and receive text messages on their phones weekly, since 96% of them do so versus 92% of non-Latinos.
