The second and final day of the annual IAB Mixx conference, closed with a passionate session with Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey on the future of digital media. Spacey started citing firsthand experience in the course of his career. “Too large ideas do not mean anything. Virtue is more important than qualifications. Actors and advertisers strive to establish a connection with the public,” he said.”What makes campaigns attractive?” Spacey asked. “Most likely is that it involves a certain honesty. Consumers appreciate the authenticity. It is a lesson that the television industry had to learn and now has to remember the lesson” he said. He concluded that idea men have asserted more control over the story than ever. “The public does not care about the platform. They care about the content,” he added.
