Twitter finally shows how Periscope fits in its bigger video strategy by launching live Periscope videos directly to its timeline, without having to download the app.”Today we are making it easier to see what´s happening by bringing Periscope broadcasts, both live and replays, directly into tweets” said Kayvon Beykpour, Periscope’s CEO and Co-Founder.”Both Periscope and Twitter offer a new way to experience the world, giving Periscope broadcasters a window to a massive new audience” added Beykpour.The new app is currently available only for users of Twitter in devices manufactured by Apple, although the company plans to roll out the feature on Android and the Web soon. The decision will allow Periscope videos to be watched by 320 million active users of the social network.
