Juan Pablo González, Senior Brand Manager at Coca-Cola, explained to PRODU that the scholarship program Coca-Cola for the Dream in association with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), this year has a US$175 thousand fund, to support higher education for Hispanics.”Bearing in mind what is important for Hispanic communities, Coca-Cola has this partnership with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), to grant US$150 thousand in scholarships to which an additional US$25 thousand donation from Regal Cinema are added, totaling US$175 thousand.”The executive pointed out that this type of initiative seeks to empower Latino students and their families. “We know that for Hispanic families education is a priority. For 96% of Hispanic parents it is very important for their children to go to college.”María Abigail Amezquita, Omar Amezquita´s mother, spoke about the importance of her son being a beneficiary of the program in 2014. “When Omar the Coca-Cola scholarship our situation changed very much. I felt proud of my son and an immense joy; I didn’t know whether to cry or laugh. It was a very different experience than the one with my first two children.
