For Juan Carlos Ortiz, President of DDB Latina and Creative Chairman at DDB Américas, the world belongs to ideas, and therefore has no geographies nor segmentations. In statements to PRODU, he believes in ideas that have the ability to be total market. “Great insights are universal, they have always been and will always be”. He adds that he is ready to preside the jury in the Outdoor category of the 2015 Cannes Lions. “It is a pleasure to lead the jury in this category, one of the 16 that the festival will reward. I am full of expectations. I have always believed that simple ideas, those are precisely the ones that mean the most to everybody. Outdoor represents the magic of ideas with real power”, says Ortiz, who has also been juror in the FIAP, and member of the Global Effie Awards. In DDB we have a very powerful reel. Cannes is Cannes, but we have worked very hard this year. There are expectations, for example with ´El Hombre y el Perro´ by DDB Argentina, which has turned into a viral sensation. We will also take the ´Protesta de Hologramas´, which we launched in Madrid after winning several ´El Sol´ awards this year, so it is a piece that will stand out; and all the work at DDB Canada for Netflix”.
