Parra sale de su zona de confort con su exhibición individual: Petallika
They way you see creative development has to do with introspection and the resolution of the problem. That is how Jorge Parra, Professor of the Miami Ad School, Owner and General Manager at Jorge Parra Photography, explains the topic of his conference: Meditation and Creativity, after his tour through Thailand. “When you enter the world of meditation –that is very disciplined- you start to have a clearer vision of all the angles to face a problem” describes Parra. Transparency of the mind is what helps solve a conflict, says Parra. “In the advertising world it is typical that we have to solve something under absolute pressure, but by incorporating mediation you make it easier to have new alternatives.”He mentioned that artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci or physicists like Albert Einstein reached splendor in their works through observation. “The creative process in the western world consists of a constant meditative state, of the observation of nature, which allows the development of ideas.” His tour through Thailand includes the photography exhibition –based on exploration with petals— titled Petallika, presented at Oscar Ascaño art gallery in Miami. “The presentation is a consequence of getting out of your comfort zone. That portfolio is the symbol of how something came out which is entirely distinct from me.” He is currently working on an individual exhibition.
