El director español Marcelo Burgos
Jorge Espinosa, executive producer and general manager of Letca Films, spoke with PRODU about his latest projects, awards, and the recent deal struck by Letca CFO and partner Melanie Shapiro with the Spanish production company Garlic to represent its director Marcelo Burgos in the United States. Were very pleased with the results of the two productions we did for Alma this year. One was Hola Mexico, Adios Cliches, a campaign that turned out to be the biggest prizewinner of the year, and the other was Glad Tent Espinosa said. The filming of Hola Mexico, Adios Cliches was directed by Jorge Colon, president and founder of Letca. They contacted us with this big idea but with a very small budget. In the end, everyone pitched in and did it with tremendous enthusiasm. This client trusts creatives, including some creatives who think way out of the box Espinosa said. When you have a client that doesnt let you develop your creativity, he loses your enthusiasm. Creatives want to be creatives, not account execs he said.Another reason Letca has for celebrating is the deal reached by Melanie Shapiro with Garlic in Spain to represent its director Marcelo Burgos in the U.S.The relationship we have with Garlic is the same that we have with Terciopelo in Mexico. We look for long-term relationships that make us feel like family. Were comfortable doing productions in Mexico and thats how we want things to be with Garlic.Spain is considered a good place to film right now they have the infrastructure, theyve been doing it for a long time, and Marcelo Burgos is an incredible director that were proud to represent, Espinosa said.
