For the first time in 40 years, since Tere Zubizarreta opened the Hispanic agency Zubi Advertising, a Zubizarreta will not be leading all operations. Joe Zubi, COO of the agency will lead operations until March 31st, according to a post published on their LinkedIn account.The measure is informed after the news that the agency had been bought by GTB from WPP, Wednesday February 1st. “As some of you might have heard, Zubi is now part of the GTB/WPP agency network and will keep the name Zubi Advertising. I will continue throughout a transitory period that ends on March 31st” he expressed. The executive, who has had a 35-year career in the industry, out of which 27 have been in Zubi Advertising, announced he will now be dedicated to offering counseling services for agencies.”I am looking ahead and will use my experience to help clients with their internal marketing and advertising communication strategies” he said.Zubi Advertising was one of the four Hispanic agencies that continued to be independent in the Hispanic market. It was founded in 1976 by Tere Zubizarreta. The agency is based in Coral Gables, Florida, and has offices in Los Angeles and Detroit. The team is close to the 120 employees and has clients such as Ford Motor Company, J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, N.A. and Dunkin’ Donuts.
