Calle: En el primer día del lanzamiento 10 mil personas habían bajado la aplicación
Iván Calle, Zubi Advertisings Creative Director talked to PRODU about the launch of a 267 emojis collection inspired in Hispanic culture, people and food. “The idea is the answer to Latinos need to express themselves through emojis that represent us and illustrate those details that make us Cuban, Colombian, Argentinian, Mexican, etc.” he explained. The Latino emoji, that comprises more than 250 emojis from six countries, were created by designers of each country to be more authentic. “Theres nothing like having an idea and working on it with your team to launch something that you know that has a lot of ground and potential”. The agency understood the challenge of trying to represent Hispanics with their unique characteristics, specific for each culture. “Were a multicultural agency that knows very, very well who we are. After all, thats what we do with our clients; connect them with the Hispanic community. Why not take the lead and do it?” Calle said. He commented that the feedback received by audiences through social networks was astonishing. The first day, 10,000 users downloaded the app. “People are amazed with the emojis design and the feedback has been incredible, not only in the U.S., but also in Angola. The most used emojis so far are those regarding food, and the beer emoji has been a success”.
