In its 45th year, the Ibero-American Advertising Festival, or FIAP, has announced the introduction of a new awards category Independent Creativity in Social Networks which will honor ingenuity in the media that has grown most over the past 10 years. The two subcategories are Commercial/Public Service and Homegrown.”This FIAP initiative recognizes creativity in its purest form, the kind that surges from the inspirations and coincidences of everyday life, not just from advertising work. Every day we see ideas on social networks that are an incredible source of inspiration for advertising creatives, which is why we want to give it space in the festivals that award and disseminate it” said FIAP CEO Daniel Marcet.Independent Creativity in Social Networks allows pieces to be entered that were not produced for commercial ends by participants who are neither professionals nor students of communications. These improvised creations are not only the most up-to-date way for communities to express themselves, but are also another inexhaustible source of inspiration for advertising creatives. The competing pieces can be uploaded quickly, easily and securely by visiting the registration system of FIAP 2014.The festival takes place between April 28-30 at the Eden Rock Renaissance Hotel in Miami Beach.
