Hispanicize 2015, and its sister company, the Latina Mom Bloggers network, announced the very first edition of the Tecla awards, to acknowledge the excellence of Latino blogs, microblogging and marketing social networks. “These prestigious awards aim to highlight the increasingly sophisticated, impressive work that Latino bloggers, microbloggers, journalists, brands, and agencies are producing in the digital multicultural space,” said Manny Ruiz, founder and creative head of the Hispanicize event. “The Tecla awards will join the celebration to the whole industry of Latino social media and digital marketing as an increased number of brands and agencies are attempting hard to work with bloggers, microbloggers, and other contents creators,” said Piera Jolly, Co-CEO of the Latina Mom Bloggers network, which has approximately 1,000 blogs about lifestyles, mothers, technology, travel, men, and other Latino bloggers. With the collaboration of iBlog Magazine, the very first Tecla awards will have 25 categories, 20 of which focusing on Latino bloggers and microblogging, and five focusing on multicultural marketing agencies and brands. The entry process for the Tecla awards will start on August 1 and will end on November 30. With the exception of two specific categories for content creation in Spanish, all nominations will be treated equally regardless of the language. The Tecla awards ceremony will take place during the first day of Hispanicize 2015, on March 16, 2015, at the Miami InterContinental Hotel.
