On the third edition of the Positive Impact awards, Hispanic women received several acknowledgements. The award recognizes Hispanics selected for their commitment to improve their communities. “This program enables us to share inspiring stories of regular Latinos who perform extraordinary actions for their communities, which serve as an example for future generations” said Manny Ruiz, Founder and Creative Director of Hispanicize. Sarahi Espinoza Salamanca, Founder of DREAMers Roadmap was selected in the Financial Education category for aiding immigrants and low income students to find scholarships, and for developing a contact network that offers opportunities. The Venezuelan Verónica Herrera, who teaches at the McCallie school in Chattanooga, were acknowledged as Person Of The Year. She promotes -via social networks- job opportunities in the U.S. Doniece Sandoval, Founder of Lava Mae was acknowledged for offering hygiene services to homeless in San Francisco city. Rebecca García, Co-Founder of CoderDojo NYC was awarded for her work at STEM. Gloria Rodríguez and Susana Baker, received special mentions. The award was sponsored by Prudential Financial and was presented on Tuesday 5 by Ismael Cala of CNN en Español and Yarel Ramos of NBC Universo.
