Hispanics are starting businesses and developing more compared to other ethnic groups, according to a study published by Geoscape. The study The hispanics in business 2014 details the impact of Hispanic businesses, specifically on the areas of ownership, entrepreneurship and wealth. The data comes from Geoscape, the United States Census, Nielsen Scarborough, the Commerce Department of the United States and the Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity. The results were officially released on the USHCC National Convention, held in Salt Lake City. The study revealed that it is expected that the total number of Hispanic-owned businesses reach 3.22 million this year, an increase of 43% since 2007, this total is more than double the rate of all businesses in the USA, which increased by 18% during the same period.”Hispanics are a vital component in the economy of the United States, due to their tendency to start and grow businesses,” Javier Palomarez, CEO of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of the United States, said. “Our Hispanic business population is a driving force in American business that will continue growing in success, size and influence. All Americans must recognize their importance for further economic success of our country.” The study mentions that the growth can be attributed to several factors: digital connectivity, easy access to capital and lower barriers to market entry.
