Gustavo Razzetti, director general de LAPIZ
Gustavo Razzetti, General Director at LAPIZ, wrote in a post at the blog Liberating Change about how people should react positively to change. For him there are two ways to look at change: as a noun and as a verb. Depending on which one we use, we will feel threatened or not to change. He explained that the mindset people adopt determines their perspective, which impacts their ability to deal with change. “That’s why I want to encourage you to start thinking of change as a verb. Think of it as something that you can make happen by playing an active role. Reframe your mindset: take ownership on how you let change impact you” he said. Razzetti prepared a Change Mindset Framework, and he explained that we need to move from a “Stuck Mindset” to a “Change Mindset”. “It’s not about you” he wrote regarding the feeling of being attacked by change. “Be generous. Realizing that the world doesn’t revolve around us is hard. Stop overthinking and act more, don’t be afraid to launch yourself into the unexpected. That’s life.” He said that when you see change as a verb, the relationship with “change” changes. But he noted: “Stretching our brain muscle to develop a ‘Change Mindset’ takes time and effort.” He recommended that when facing something unexpected, instead of reacting to it, reflect about: How might you turn it into a verb? Or How might you embrace change and open up to new possibilities?
