Gustavo Razzetti, executive VP and General Director of LAPIZ, believes there is a love/hate relation with art among students. That was one of the conclusions Razzetti reached after participating in an innovation project to improve the art experience of students of the Grand Valley State University in Michigan.Although teachers celebrate children´s creative work, they are not capable of having fun in the teaching process. Razzetti in his blog warns that experimentation is essential for creativity. “Mastering a new ability takes around seven years. If people quit playing an instrument during the first weeks, how can they learn? How can we create a better relation between art and those who are not artists? I cannot stop thinking about the Creative Movement that is encouraging everybody to turn into an inventor, a designer. It questions adults rigidity in criticizing their own artistic expressions, thus hindering the possibility of unleashing creativity. “When did we draw a line that separates those who know how to do it (artists) and those who don´t?” When did doodles stop being fun and become something more serious?”
