Google once again tops the list of the BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands and the BrandZ subranking of the 20 most valuable technology brands, made by WPP and Millward Brown. With a 32% growth and a value of $229 billion, Google recovered its position as the most valuable brand, leaving Apple in second place, with a value of $228 billion.Facebook, for second consecutive year, was the technology brand that experienced the greatest growth (44% with respect to 2015) to reach a value of $102,551 million, value with which it managed to make the top ten of the global ranking and reach the fourth position in the Top 20 of the technology ranking.Huawei, the Chinese low cost smartphone manufacturer has globalized rapidly and is currently positioned in the 13th place of the Top 20 of the technology with a value of $18,7 billion. Another success story is Netflix, who has managed a place in the Top 20 of the technology ranking for the first time, with a brand value of $9,2 billion.“There is a clear necessity for technology brands to show their development of innovations, as a creation of products aligned with the trend of the Internet of things, to convince consumers of the value of their offer and allow investors to anticipate future growth more accurately” commented Elspeth Cheung, Global BrandZ Valuation Director at Millward Brown.
