For Gonzalo Alonso, General Director at smartycontent America, the purpose of starting operations in the region is to break current paradigms in the video industry, like theFounder of the company, Jesús Aldana has done in Spain since 2011. “What the company does is provide advanced digital video solutions in a comprehensive manner in audiences, contents and monetization, for the entire value chain in the communications and advertising industry.”The company has set forth to boost the online video market under a business model that enables all the agents that form part of the advertising market value chain to obtain benefits. “We have a platform called smartyCenter, that allows publishers who produce audiovisual content, to access a platform to manage, qualify, monetize and publish video content.” They also have a content marketplace that allows the publisher to syndicate content. “We are working with the EFE agency and with Zoomin TV, where each publisher can share and syndicate audiovisual content.” The smartycontent team in the U.S. is comprised by Gonzalo Alonso, General Director; Martín Sanchez Serra, Affiliation Director for the South Cone; Bereth Galicia, Affiliations Director for the North Cone; and Luisa Magalhães, Affiliation Director for Brazil. “If we are going to cater to all Latin America, the key markets are: the U.S., Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Perú and Chile, but, at the same time, we are reaching Central America and smaller markets.” The company was launched in December 2016 by Smartycontent and RedMas -a Cisneros Interactive digital advertising network, with operations in Latin America and the U.S.
