Gatorade Goat Camp

Gatorade launched on Monday, February 24, its global GOAT Camp campaign starring soccer’s Leo Messi, tennis champ Serena Williams, track star Usain Bolt and basketball’s Hall of Famer Michael Jordan. The setting is a mythical destination where promising young athletes have the chance to learn from the best. “Gatorade has fueled elite athletes for more than 50 years and knows what it takes to become a GOAT, or Greatest Of All Time. This campaign reinforces Gatorade as the greatest fuel for athletic feats and shows that the world’s top athletes trust Gatorade to keep their performance at its best. It also highlights the brand’s ongoing commitment to the next generation of athletes,” said Jill Leccia, Head of Sports, Functional and Nutritional Beverages at PepsiCo Latin America. She noted that in 2020 the brand will continue to focus on helping athletes shine through its scientific expertise and long history of understanding their needs at all levels. It also has plans to back many young players across multiple disciplines, with the Gatorade 5v5 soccer tournament being one of the best examples of how the sports beverage “walks the talk.” This contest of young soccer players between 14 and 16 years old spans Latin America, North America, Asia and Europe. “The Colombian soccer player Gisela Robledo is one of the newcomers we’re promoting. That’s why she has become part of the GOAT Camp campaign as a female soccer legend,” Leccia said. She added that Gatorade in the U.S. has always supported Hispanic youth programs. “This year the Gatorade 5v5 soccer tournament qualifiers will be played across five states in the U.S. with large Hispanic communities including Florida, Texas, California and New York.”
