Gastón Taratuta, CEO and founder of IMS, told PRODU there is a frantic dynamics in the mobile market in Latin America.According to the executive, “Latin America is expected to have some 220 million smartphones in 2018. Today there are approximately 120 to 130 million smartphones. Likewise, gradually, the proliferation of 4G technology is growing in many countries in the region, which has pushed operators to increase the infrastructure offer”.He added that in Latin America now there is more hardware available, “we also found telephone services that are being subsidized or sold in quotas to consumers, therefore the mobile market in the region has many opportunities to grow. That was what a study we did in IMAS together with ComScore, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCOR), global measuring leader in the digital world, revealed”.The same study indicates that mobile device users in Latin America are very committed to applications. Smartphone users in Latin America have downloaded an average of 18 applications in their devices. The CEO and founder of IMS, who was present as a panelist in the conference Emerge Americas Miami 2015, commented that more than 60% of the users of mobile applications consider them to be very important in daily life.”Currently we are making important associations in Silicon Valley that we will announce later on, related with gaming, video and a lot of social media”, announced Gastón Taratuta to PRODU, and he also highlighted that IMS has projects for soon in the Hispanic US market.
