Cannes award-winner Claudio Lima along with Samsung professional Evandro Gumaraes and former ESL executive Bernardo Mendes have founded Brazil’s Druid Creative Gaming agency to operate exclusively in the video game market. The three executives, all former Cheil employees, will head the new company as CEO, COO and director of games, respectively. “Gaming has the power to be one of the most important marketing tools ever, grabbing the attention of several target audiences and building its own specialized ecosystem that brands can use to connect with new users,” Claudio Lima said. For brands to capitalize on the gaming world, it’s important not to interrupt the gameplay. “People playing a game are interested in that activity, so brands need to understand that and deliver messages that show how products can be part of that lifestyle and have everything to do with the interests of the game-playing consumer.” Players are not used to watching commercials in the middle of their games as they do with other shows, he noted. On the contrary, “they hate it.” Druid Creative Gaming will represent the e-sports organization LOUD as its first client. “We will work to find partnership opportunities and then help brands explore the full potential of the organization, its players and influencers by delivering contextualized creativity that truly connects brands with LOUD fans.”
