The car-restoring outfit Hollywood Hot Rods entered a 2014 Ford Mustang GT in the supercars challenge at the 2013 SEMA event, having succeeded in blending the classic with the custom-made after a total of 400 hours of remodeling work.According to Troy Ladd, owner of Hollywood Hot Rods, We really wanted to take the customization of this Mustang to the next level adding that they didnt just want to add accessories, we wanted to really change the car.It took 150 hours for the team to reshape the rear end of the auto and another 250 hours to create the aluminum lift-off roof, the front splitter, side scoops, skirts, diffuser and more. We decided to redesign some key elements of the car, like the roof and rear section; to create a completely new and bold design that propels Mustang into supercar status while retaining classic Mustang DNA.On the outside, the car has a hard aluminum lift-off top, a reshaped tail section and handcrafted aluminum bodywork accessories like the front grille and rear wing. The motor is a 5.0-liter V8 with a Ford Racing Whipple supercharger and a Banks water-methanol injection system. The supercar also features Cortex Racing, X-treme grip track suspension, StopTec six-piston brakes and JRI coilover shocks at all four corners.
