Rodríguez: El objetivo de la campaña es empoderar sobre información de salud
The Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease (PFCD) launched a campaign to raise awareness about chronic diseases. Fernando Rodríguez, Latin Group Director at the agency talked to PRODU about the campaign goals. “The coalition aims to educate all people to understand that first of all they must create awareness about this problem, eat healthy and stop physical inactivity.” “Well continue to support any other initiative that educates and aids in any way Hispanics in the U.S.” he added. Another goal of the campaign is to empower the Hispanic population with health information. Hispanics usually dont visit the doctor and when they do, they dont make key questions.” The launch began with a panel that took place in Miami on Monday 4th with specialists of the PFCD, the South Florida Health Council, the West Kendall Baptist hospital, and the Miami-Dade Health Department of Florida. They discussed about local health care and available solutions to address the regions chronic diseases. “We launched the campaign at the West Kendall Baptist hospital. We gathered doctors and community leaders that work with the different health and welfare services groups who offered information about how Hispanics are affected by these diseases. Also we activated a web site with information in English and Spanish, including an informative video.”
