The success of the App Strip campaign for the comedian Ximo Abadia resulted from involving every agencys department from the beginning, said Facundo Paglia, Creative Director at Wing. “Team work makes us winners. Its easier to make ideas come true when we work together. Without the help of the digital department -involved from the conception of the idea- we would not have been able to do it successfully” Paglia told PRODU. The challenge was to introduce the artist to the audience and at the same time promote his book, Clonk and increase its sales. “This was supposed to be achieved in an environment of clear decline of comics art in traditional platforms towards a new digital platform reader.” To increase Ximo Abadias visibility and bring comics back again into peoples life, Wing teamed up with the comedian and launched a series of his comics using four apps icons at the same time. People just had to free download the apps on Google Play, put them in the right place and allow automatic update to receive in their screen a new comic strip every day. Also the apps allowed users to see Ximos work, contact him and buy his book Clonk. The book sales soared 400% after the campaign.
