Emiliano Calemzuk
Luis Balaguer of LatinWE, the Actress Sofia Vergara, and Emiliano Calemzuk (former shine and former FOX) announced the launch of Raze, their new production house and digital platform, which will produce proprietary content and third party productions. Raze’s contents will showcase experiences and lifestyles of Latinos in the U.S. “The U.S. is ready to be leaded creatively with a Latino approach. The Latin American world in the U.S. is not a niche or a segment anymore, it became the most important part of the multicultural generation. So, why the future of entertainment in the U.S. couldn’t be facing a Latino initiative? We want to build it. There and then sprang the idea of Raze” said Calemzuk, CEO at Raze. Raze’s first production, Su nombre era Dolores (Her name was Dolores) debuted to rousing success last Sunday in Univision. Raze also is developing several additional shows like: Futbol, about the soccer world legend, Diego Armando Maradona, in partnership with Dhana Medios and BTF; Mi Hermanastro (My Stepbrother), based on a Wattpad novel, and other projects including a series about the life of the singer Don Omar. “We don’t want Raze to be for Latinos, we want that it reflects their point of view, but for Americans in the U.S.” Calemzuk said that Latin Americans will feel identified with the contents, while those who are not Latin could learn from the Latino experience in their country, which is very complex. The digital platform will be launched in the middle of this year. UTA and Ziffren Brittenham LLP are Partners and Advisors, while Greycroft and Raine are Funding Partners of Series A.
