Droga5, the agency based in New York, won the account of Chase Bank, the biggest name in the bank industry in the US. Among their new responsibilities are: Retail, Mortgage, Auto and Chase for Business, alongside other aspects of the company’s portfolio, which is increasingly larger. The client did not announce a formal agency review. The last time they had one was in 2013 when they handed their digital accounts over to Publicis Group’s Rosetta and Razorfish. What is not clear is how this change can affect the relations between Chase and their other creative agencies. The organization began to work with mcgarrybowen from Dentsu more than a decade ago, when they were chosen to handle the credit card business. Four years later, Chase expanded the agency’s role by handing them the responsibility of the global image of their campaigns. mcgarrybowen lost part of the business in 2012 when Chase chose Saatchi & Saatchi to handle the Sapphire card campaign.Droga5 will be in charge of some of the works previously assigned to mcgarrybowen. A Chase spokesperson stated that Saatchi & Saatchi will nevertheless maintain its creative status for the Sapphire and Freedom cards.
