Uno de los mensajes de texto fatales que componen la letra de la canción, Put it Down
The multicultural agency based in Dallas was the only Hispanic agency to classify with three finalists on the Radio shortlist, for the pieces Frida, Rodan for the Dallas Museum of Art and Put It Down for Chevrolet. Put It Down consisted of a song that took the lives of those who wrote the lyrics. Texting and driving has become a common habit that is socially accepted. Countless efforts have been made to lower these statistics, but the numbers continue to rise: eleven people die each day and 25% of car accidents are due to this bad practice, points out the agency. To change this reality, Dieste and Apple Sport Chevrolet found a way to make people listen to the words people were writing when the accidents that took their lives occurred. They partnered with Ale Jay, chosen as young artist of the year, to help compose Put it Down, a song that uses for lyrics nine text messages that were being written when the accidents happened. Yes, those nine people were driving and lost their lives because of texting and driving. The song was launched on SoundCloud and is being broadcast on the main radio stations, persuading millions of drivers to put down their cell phones and focus on the most important thing: attention to driving.
