Orci mes de la herencia hispana
To commemorate the Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM), the Orcí agency launched the series “Comunidades & Creators” to celebrate this community. Although the agency highlights Latinos all year round, this month their focus is on how the industry represents ‘Latinity’ in general and which aspects of that identity are not showcased enough in the US Hispanic market communications.Diego Andrade, SVP, Executive Creative Director of Orci, explained that when trying to promote more diverse representation in the industry—of people from queer and trans communities, or people of indigenous roots, Afro-Latinos, or multicultural people—the answer is always the same: Those creatives are hard to find, especially in leadership positions. He noted that there are a lot of talented creatives from underrepresented communities who dedicate their work to amplifying the visibility of those communities. However, many are not in leadership positions precisely because the industry doesn’t give them the opportunity. “They do exist and are incredible,” he said.“This year, in our HHM content, we decided to highlight the profiles of some of these people, creatives, and professionals with this intersectional approach. Each of them could become the new leader that this industry needs. But only if we give them the chance. So it’s up to all of us to do something about it.”
