JWT announced the launch of Walter, an agency created to work with start-up companies and which will be officially introduced at the SXSWi interactive festival in Austin, Texas on March 8, and will depart this world on March 12.During the five days of the hi-tech festival, creative and strategic talent from the JWT multinational organization will join together to develop a personalized brand campaign for the one or two start-up companies they find most interesting. Walter is a pop-up agency comprised of global talent from JWT offices collaborating on ideas that will give start-ups a way to go to market that isnt usually available to them. The ideal Walter client is any start-up with a great product or service, the courage to do something fun and extraordinary and the foresight to understand how a brand-led creative expression can squeeze the time between launch and critical mass said David Eastman, CEO of Walter and of JWT North America.To kick off the process, Walter will meet with 25 different start-ups that have something new to offer, from which it will choose the most interesting ideas and create marketing campaigns for the best one or two of them, which the winning companies can use to put their new ideas on the market.Our aim is to think big, act small, invent new ideas, destroy expectations and have fun along the way, said Perry Fair, president of WALTER and creative director of JWT Atlanta.
