Daniel Salcedo, fundador y productor ejecutivo de The Elevator
The Elevator recently launched its virtual reality (VR) unit, and now are bidding on three projects, according to Daniel Salcedo, Founder and Executive Producer. “Several clients began to demand VR services and some circumstances emerged that allow us to launch the unit” he told PRODU. For Salcedo, what is interesting about VR is that it’s a brand new technology and there is still a lot of testing in its execution and in the client’s process. “The postproduction process in VR is very different from linear videos.” That is why, he noted, managing VR requires an evangelization process. “We are doing VR Lab to teach people about how to work with this format.” Regarding the low numbers recorded in the digital budget, Salcedo said that there is a lack of information from the clients’ side, because they think that doing digital video does not require the same effort that other platforms such as TV. This scenario “has promoted that we producers work in a more efficient way in resource, execution and budget. Managing these three elements is challenging, apart from the quality clients can have access to. In The Elevator we’ve been working editorial branded content in digital, and we’ve seen how is a fact that these three elements create more client’s trust.”
