Daniel Ek, CEO de Spotify, dice que a finales de 2014 la plataforma superó a iTunes
Spotify, after leaving behind iTunes, challenges YouTube with the launching of its video platform. Daniel Ek, the company´s CEO, thinks that “music is undergoing a deep change, that not even we were capable of anticipating when we created the platform”.He adds that “the new Spotify is not simply great for users, but that it will become an innovative experience for our marketing partners, to deliver more relevant and more specific ads”. At the end of 2014 Spotify beat iTunes, because there were more users listening to music in the streaming than those who bought in stores. Now the Swedish company is getting ready to conquer the YouTube market. Spotify´s need to lead new markets is due to the fact that the musical industry has taken hold of the different areas of entertainment, mainly the Internet.Spotify became the number one streaming in the last five years and with this new tool in the application, greater interaction with the 60 million actives users -until now- is expected, for the main goal is for subscribers not to abandon the platform to go to YouTube to seek contents.”The idea is that with these videos people remain more interested in the service and listen to more music in the platform, and at the same time, introduce content”, commented EK.
