Ed Rivero, cofundador y productor ejecutivo de Cortez Brothers
Cuba’s bastion production company, Shoot Cuba, now has representation in the U.S. through the veteran Executive Producer, Ed Rivero and his company, Cortez Brothers. Rivero will help his U.S. colleagues, ad agencies and other content creators to explore and enter the Cuban market in moments when they are going through a historical opening with Barack Obama’s government.Ed Rivero, Cuban native, has been traveling to the island in the last 15 years and making contact with key people, including the Executive Producer of Shoot Cuba, Luis Lago. As part of the agreement between Rivero and Lago, the Cuban production company will serve as headquarters for Cortez Brothers in the island. The production company, founded in 2006, specializes in mixing the general and the Hispanic market and has filmed for agencies and brands through South and Central America and in the U.S. One of Rivera’s goals with Shoot Cuba is to increase its infrastructure on the island, in order to handle multiple shootings at the same time. “With flexibilization of imports, we will soon be taking equipment to support Luis and his team” said Rivero. To produce in Cuba is cheaper, explained Lago, and his company also has professionals to support large-scale productions. Regarding the opening with the U.S. he said: “We hope Americans will be interested and are ready to work with them. We only need an opportunity.”
