Comcast, NBCUniversal and Twitter announced a strategic alliance to directly connect millions of Twitter users with television shows. In the first stage of the association, Comcast has created a new feature called See It, which will give millions of Xfinity TV viewers the ability to connect instantly and directly to television shows, films and sports with a tweet. The new service takes off in November with shows on NBCUniversal networks. The companies also announced an advertising partnership on Twitters Amplify program that promotes awareness of TV programs through the integration of sponsored real-time video ad snippets on tweets. Comcast and Twitter are also exploring new ways to integrate social TV conversations on the Comcast X1 platform, the companys entertainment operating system. “See It is a simple yet powerful feature that creates an instant online remote control Comcast President and CEO Brian Roberts said, adding that Comcast is taking a leap forward in social TV by enabling Twitter users to more easily find and view the shows they want to watch and discover new shows. Twitter complements the live viewing experience and is an ideal partner for Comcast and NBCUniversal”.”Twitter is where television viewers come to talk about what theyre watching on TV when theyre watching it.
