To celebrate the Hispanic Heritage Month, Colgate-Palmolive partnered with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) to begin its annual scholarship program, Haz la U (Study at the University). The initiative is associated with the program of Youth Awards of the foundation, and its community service section to award US$ 45,000 in scholarships to 30 students. “Colgate continues to invest in increasing the number of Hispanics enrolling in college, helping to reduce the financial concerns of families,” Carla Kelly, General Manager of Multicultural Marketing at Colgate-Palmolive, said. “Our collaboration with HHF is testament to the value we place not only to the education of our leaders, but also to celebrate individuals who want to help their community”.Thirty high school students will be selected by the HHF to receive US$ 1,500 in academic scholarships from Colgate-Palmolive to help fund a college education. All candidates will also be eligible to participate in Latinos On Fast Track (LOFT), a nationwide program that helps speed careers through professional guidance.”We are delighted that Colgate-Palmolive is working closely with us to spread awareness of our programs for students and encouraging our young leaders to commit” Jose Antonio Tijerina, president and CEO of HHF, said. “Haz la U (Study at the University) is a scholarship program that helps alleviate some of the financial pressures felt by freshmen and their families, with the main goal of increasing graduation rates”.
