Coca-Cola has a long history of creating special-edition bottles to celebrate outstanding events. Now the soda beverage is debuting collectible mini-bottles for the 2014 FIFA World Cup to be contested this summer in Brazil. The 18 different designs are numbered and decorated with the flags of former hosts of the World Cub, including Argentina, France, Italy, Germany, Mexico, Japan, as well as the next host countries like Brazil, Russia and Qatar. The special-edition bottles will be smaller than the usual containers, will contain no actual soda, and will be backed by a promotional print and broadcast campaign by J. Walter Thompson. On the upper part of the attractive, innovative Coca-Cola designs are some specifications that allow the bottles to be interactive. Coca-Cola fans through Facebook or iPhone and Android apps will be able to create special messages and avatars that can be delivered to other bottle owners. The markers on the bottles can activate augmented reality animations when they are held up to camera smartphones.Coca-Cola launches these attractive bottles as a sign of support for Brazil during the World Cup championship that the South American country will host this summer.
