The Culture Marketing Council: La Voz del Mercado Hispano (CMC) announced that it is postponing its annual summit, that was going to be held in New York from April 27 to 29, due to the spread of the pandemic of COVID-19. Through a statement, they reported that in upcoming weeks they will announce the new dates. “We hope you, your family and your colleagues stay well and safe during these uncertain times” says Gonzalo del Fa, Chairman of the organization and president of GroupM Multicultural. The announcement came after the government of Donald Trump declared national emergency in the US on Friday 13 and the coming into force of all the flights from Europe to that country.This way, CMC joins the list of postponed and cancelled events in the industry due to the spread of the coronavirus, as was the case of SXSW in Austin, that was cancelled for the first time in 34 years, and was programmed to be held from March 13 to 22; The One Club for Creativity decided to take all the events of its Creative Week -programmed to take place between May 11 to 15- online; and the Cannes Lions Festival is evaluating the alternative dates between October 26 to 30.
