Ciro Sarmiento, CCO de Dieste
One Argentinian, One Brazilian and One Colombian Walk into a Bar is the title of the conference that Ciro Sarmiento, CCO at Dieste, will present at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, while sharing the stage with Javier Campopiano, partner and CCO of FCB Mexico, and Fernanda Romana, founder of the Malagueta Group. “I feel so proud to be a part of this. I love being a juror at festivals, but I truly think that being a speaker at Cannes is as good as it gets and you have a much wider audience. It’s my chance as a Latino to make my voice heard, and as a member of the Hispanic market in the U.S. to talk on behalf of all the agencies in the segment” Sarmiento said.He said that when the festival organizers invited him to speak, he proposed doing it together with two other creatives to provide a broader vision of the multicultural industry in the U.S. “They are the ABC of Latinos leading agencies in the U.S. The title is borrowed from a bunch of American jokes about diverse races and cultures, and that is because I believe the key word this year should be diversity, not only at the festival but throughout the advertising industry.” The presentation will be on June 19 at 2:45 pm at the Debussy Theatre, Palais I. “As creatives we’ll be going through a lot of anecdotes, stories, tips and things that are truly relevant in the U.S. from the Latino point of view.” The last Hispanic to conduct a conference at Cannes Lions was Sergio Alcocer in 2015, when he was president and CCO of LatinWorks.
