Ahumada: El mercado está sobreviviendo y ha dejado en términos complicados los temas de cobros
César Ahumada, President of La Fabrica USA, talked to PRODU about the new challenges they are facing as a company at this point of 2015 and their perception of the Hispanic market’s situation for audiovisual production companies.”This year, compared to the last two or three years, we have been very active. We have been lucky to participate in very nice projects” he said. “We started off with production services for the brand Claritin. With the agency Common Grounds MGS we shot all the campaign for the I.T.T. Technical Institute and made a very special comedy commercial for the Lottery of Illinois, directed by our great Augusto Giménez Zapiola. The truth is that such big projects in this market are scarce nowadays, so we’re very happy and grateful”.Ahumada has been in the business more than 20 years and has witnessed a lot of things. He thinks the current situation of the market is similar to what happened in Mexico 16 years ago when they decided to open their offices in Miami. “Definitely, budgets are smaller. The market is surviving and collection is now complicated”. In the light of this situation, they have diversified and become flexible to do new works. They’ve sought business opportunities where there weren’t any and have managed to “strengthen and consolidate what they know, and at the same time remaining flexible to storm the weather and progress towards better quality productions with less money, keeping their quality standards and good relations with clients”.
