Casanova // McCann has produced a commercial for the launch of the California Lottery’s Super Ticket. The spot features an 18-wheeler truck driving across California carrying a gigantic Scratcher. When the truck finally reaches its convenience store destination a clever surprise is revealed.The spot was directed by Pet & Flo from Slim Pictures and its aim was to create the illusion of a real truck in-camera, without implementing CGI or any other post production resource. “Once we decided the way we wanted to shoot, the real challenge began. Every set-up was only good for a couple of seconds because as soon as the truck moved a little too much, the illusion was taken away” explained Fernando Poblete, Creative Director. The team responsible for the spot by Casanova // McCann includes Elías Weinstock, CCO; Fernando Poblete, Creative Director; Francisco Rojas, Associate Creative Director; Ambrosio Ballon, Josue Mendoza and Fernando Poblete, Copywriters; Humberto Rodríguez, Producer; Melanie Cyr, Account Director; and Bel Gunduz, Account Executive. For the production firm, Slim Pictures, the participants, aside from Pet & Flo in the direction were the Executive Producer, Tom Weissferdt; and Mark Conley, Line Producer. It was post produced in Makine Studios, edited by Patricio Pena; the music was under the responsibility of Animal Music, and The Mill was in charge of color correction. The commercial was shot over two days in Los Angeles and was broadcast in April. The campaign included radio, digital, social and TV integrations where the truck made live appearances.
