Cancellara es una de las 12 creativas seleccionadas para participar en el programa
DDB Worldwide launched The Phyllis Project, a global initiative that seeks to increase the number of women among the creative leadership of their subsidiaries worldwide. Carla Cancellara, Copywriter at DM9 DDB, is one of the 12 creatives chosen to participate in the program. “The mentoring program is a part of the project. We are still getting to know the details, but in this program, one of the leaders of DDB Creative Council is going to be my mentor. This is to say that he or she will follow my professional development and I will be able to count on him or her for advice when I am challenged, when I have doubts, and when making important decisions” she explains to PRODU.The program´s main message is that a person´s gender does not define his role in an organization or a society. A woman -and a man, as well- can be whatever they want to be, a leader, an employee, an entrepreneur, a self-employed, a homemaker or none of these things. We have to make sure that women have the same opportunities as men and that they are all valued equally”.She warns that there are a lot of tabus regarding women´s roles in agencies, such as that they are not interested in working in the creative department. “We must point out the creative women we know, so that leaders know that, yes, they do exist. I also think it is important to foster an environment of mutual respect, that is not hostile for either men nor women. And to create flexible work systems so that someone who decides to have children can enjoy their childhood”.
