387 people from 40 countries have been confirmed across all of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity juries and this year they will be comprised of 40% women. From the Hispanic market, Luis Miguel Messianu, Creative Chairman & CEO of ALMA stands out as juror of the Radio Category. Philip Thomas, CEO of Lions Festivals, highlighted the importance of putting together balanced juries to ensure fair judging of the awards. “Juries have a significant responsibility in determining the future path of creative communications” he said. Last year, 31.5% of juries comprised women, 2016s 40% is a record number for the Festival. The juries will meet in Cannes to judge live throughout the Festival, with the winners of the Lions being announced and honored at awards ceremonies taking place across the eight days.
