Ije Nwokorie, nuevo CEO Global de Wolff Olins
The Cannes Lions Creativity Internationational Festival has appointed Ije Nwokorie, the new Wolff Olins Global CEO, as the president of the jury in the Design category of Lions. Nwokorie will replace Karl Heiselman, due to his recent leaving of Wolff Olins to take over a new professional challenge in Apple.Born in the States, Nwokorie spent his first years in Nigeria. He studied architecture in Columbia University, and he has worked in urban regeneration projects in Africa, special effects in New York, among others. In 2006, Nwokorie started in Wolff Olins as senior strategist. Later, he would become director of the office in London until becoming the companys Global CEO recently. Among his many responsibilities, Nwokorie will manage the global businesses of Wolff Olins straight on in a new and thrilling chapter, thought to inspire, ease and offer strategies and innovation to big corporations.Commenting on his appointment, Nwokorie expressed: “I am eager to see how the industry uses design as a tool to face critical and exciting moments like the ones we are currently living”.The definition of Design for Cannes Lions is the celebration of the use of design as a help in communication and the experience to inform ethos, brand and products message.
