Ariel Dress, Pavel Cantú y Matías Aubi de BlackVan Films
The production company, BlackVan Films, celebrates its third anniversary in 2017. Matías Aubi, Ariel Dress and Pavel Cantú, Founders of the company, have reached their goals successfully. “We already managed to place our brand in the Hispanic market, to get people talking about BlackVan, for them to seek our Directors and also the regularity of the work. We have a solid foundation and a lot ahead of us. We are now aiming more and more to expanding our scope even further” they explained. The directors feel the U.S. Hispanic market keeps on growing so each time they are convinced that there is increasingly more competition and good work. However, they are convinced that this is their path. “Since we started, our philosophy is to be professional but our mantra is to have fun and enjoy the ride. This mindset injects good energy on what we do, and it shows on the results. The agencies keep calling us back, so I guess we must be doing something right” they commented. According to the producers, this growth in the Hispanic market is reflected in a specific and unique language that gives them a very authentic identity. “The value of having all these different Latino cultures building their power on the same market cannot be replicated in any part of the world. We stand up in advertising market because of that, and we have proved it at Cannes”. Their most recent projects include a Wendy’s campaign for Bravo with director Pablo Fusco. “This was a very creative campaign; the humor on the concept and the craft were impeccable. Everyone was very pleased with the results and it was just another great collaboration we started out with the Bravo agency last year.” They are also developing a very ambitious project for the Ministry of Tourism in Dominican Republic. “A production that involved shooting throughout the whole island, from the land, the sea, the sky, and a great story too. It will be published pretty soon.” They recently added Gonzo Llorente to their roster as a director. “It is a great contribution, BlackVan is thrilled to have him among us, and he’ll leave a good mark on the US Hispanic market. We’re a non-stop van, full of energy and enthusiasm” they concluded.
