Prizes for creativity set standards of quality that improve the advertising industry and help position clients and agencies in a quick, effective way, according to Chany D’Amelio, VP of creative services at Ogilvy Miami. D’Amelio – a member of the FIAP 2021 Production Jury – told agencies and clients that the ads entered in the festival ought to have extremely high levels of both creativity and production values. “For that reason we recommend that when it comes time to enter your creations, you should be very critical of the work and spend time checking your entries. What’s most important is to avoid concepts that have already done the rounds, and to have a very fresh approach to production.” As for the basic elements that any entry in the Production Category must have, the executive added that it depends on the type of advertising being considered. “From my point of view, the basic elements are casting, acting, photography, art direction, postproduction and the sound track. But what will really stand out is how all that comes together in perfect harmony to form a great advertisement.”He said that Covid is no excuse for a mediocre production. “Although being prevented from attending shoots in person has considerable disadvantages, above all for those of us who love filming, some excellent examples exist of great results being turned out remotely. Working by remote will, in fact, become a trend of post-Covid festivals. The FIAP + PRODU Innovation Summit will take place October 5-7, 2021, at the legendary Eden Roc Hotel in Miami.
