Underdog is betting on original content with different projects, and one is Movers. Andrés Wolff, Creative Director and Founder at Underdog explained that the idea for this series was born the moment they were changing the company’s communication goal. “Now we’re focused 50% at branded content and the remaining 50% we’re betting hard on content and entertainment specifically” he said. Movers is based on real life characters, and tells the story of the Hispanics in the U.S. creating urban dance movements such as hip-hop and brake dance. “These genres have always been associated to Afro American, but there has been always a Latino voice there. Since the 70s they were also in Harlem making their contribution to the dance and we wanted to explore this perspective” he said. The project was presented at NATPE and it’s almost starting preproduction. “This is a more cinematic and more scripted production, it is heavily charged with social content and script, and that is what we want to achieve. We’re partnering with the right people and we hope to conclude it next year” he said.
