Altered.LA’s Alex Messianu demonstrates that creativity is not only inherited but runs in the veins

Alex Messianu was born in Mexico City and raised in the US. From a young age he was surrounded by much creative knowledge, not only for being the son of Luis Messianu, president and founder of ALMA; but also for his great talent that allowed him to develop professionally. He worked in Zubi, Turkel, GSD & M and Latinworks, before receiving his degree as Bachelor in Radio | Television | Film at the University of Texas; subsequently, he served as assistant director of Simon Bross, Magaby Garcia, Jorge Colon and Fred Clapp.Today, Messianu talks with PRODU in relation to his successful career, which is represented by Altered.LA, production house which hosts various renowned directors.In his portfolio, he has projects for State Farm, MTV, Ford, Discovery in Español, Pennzoil and Encore. One of his first commercials Let them fly, was acquired by the New York Racing Association (NYRA) and aired on ABC and ESPN.Not only he has worked for the general market but also for the Hispanic audience. “I think we are living in an era where the lines between Hispanic market and general market are more blurred daily. The Hispanic influence in America is felt more than ever,” Messianu said.The last he project he worked for was with Altered.LA, a digital series titled Microsoft and MiTú Holiday House.Besides directing, Messianu has been idea man, writer and producer of television channels like Discovery, Fox, Fox Sports, Starz and MTV, earning several awards Promax BDA.
