Extra Guns
Cannes Lions 2019 ended Friday, June 21 and ALMA returned home with a bronze Lion in Print & Publishing by Guns for Change the Ref, and 7 shortlists. Thanks to their performance, they came in fourth place in the U.S. Hispanic agency ranking. They received a bronze Lion in Print & Publishing for a campaign made up of four prints with the map of the USA. The large amount of crimes that occur due to fire weapons in Florida are highlighted on the map, reflecting how in that state the incidence is much higher than in other states combined. Even though the shape of the state is similar to a gun, the NGO invites to changes that reality. The shortlists include: one for 3D Activist for Change the Ref in Outdoor; four in Print & Publishing for Guns 1, Guns 2, Guns 3 y Guns 4; one in Film for 3D Activist and another for the same campaign in the category Sustainable Development Goals Lions. 3D Activist is a case comprised by activations and even a documentary on the first activist printed in 3D. This is Joaquín Oliver, a 17-year-old teenager murdered during the shooting at the Parkland High School, who now leads a fight against 3D impression of fire weapons.
