David Alvarez, Art Director and Creative Director of ALMA spoke with PRODU about his career in the advertising industry, which began in Mexico City by the hand of DDB Mexico as Art Director for eight years, then in 2010 he started a new challenge in the Hispanic market in the US, invited by La Comunidad, for the position of senior Art Director.Two and a half years later, Alvarez joins ALMA, a team that has welcomed him with open arms, he confessed. “I like the spirit of good vibes the agency has and the creative culture that exists to support good ideas,” he said.Comparing the Latin American market to the Hispanic US, he ensures that they are very similar. “In both markets the challenge is the same, the important thing is to generate good ideas that impact,” he said. “The difference is the language and acculturation, which makes it very interesting.”During the course of his career, Alvarez has worked for accounts like McDonald’s, Volkswagen, Clorox, Corona Extra, Jose Cuervo and Fedex. Also his work has been recognized at festivals such as Cannes Lions, D & AD, USH Idea, FIAP, El Sol, Wave and Circulo Creativo of Mexico.Recently, the idea man has been invited to join the grand jury for the next edition of the New York.
