Alexis Estiz, Founder and Composer of Pickle Music, again took part in creating Tide’s Super Bowl ads, in which the sound and music production company collaborated once more with Saatchi & Saatchi NY to create the laundry detergent’s advertising. “What’s good about working with a brand you’ve already dealt with is that you get to know its sound identity. That helped us create another musical milestone and to contribute well beyond what was just necessary. Working with a great team like Saatchi & Saatchi New York, and with the creative department of Warner Bros for the Wonder Woman piece, was a great experience.” He noted that every project they work on is important for Pickle Music. “In this one, besides being exclusively conceived for the Super Bowl, we felt an extra challenge that made us give the very best of our musical craft because of the variety required by Super Bowl Now, Laundry Later and Wonder Woman. Thanks to the Pickle members involved, including Dario Calequi, Jade Che, Erika Freijo and Sebastian Merlin, along with the support of the entire New York team, we were able to create some amazing soundtracks.” As for the Super Bowl’s multicultural context, Orci said the fact that it was played in Miami with a halftime show featuring such Hispanic artists as Shakira and Jennifer Lopez was a message in itself, “but beyond that, I didn’t see a great presence of multicultural campaigns, though it did seem to me there was a lot of focus on diversity.”
